FACMinistry - The Friends of Arab Christians Ministry

About FACMinistry

OUR PURPOSE AND MISSION

Serving those who serve the Lord

Resources for Arabic Christians are very small and limited, and every pastor and Bible student is faced with the challenge of finding a conservative and scholarly commentary or Bible dictionary in Arabic language. I have personally experienced this great need when ministering in the Middle East. Pastors, Bible students, and believers deserve to have resources and tools in their own language that can contribute to their understanding of the Scriptures. What we have available in the Arabic language can not satisfy the thirsty souls of the people in Middle East.

As a result of praying and thinking about that great need, FRIENDS OF ARAB CHRISTIANS MINISTRY was born to meet that need. Our mission is to help those who serve the Lord by providing good biblical, conservative, and scholarly resources that are invaluable for their ministry. To do so, FACM will translate commentaries and other resources from English into Arabic and encourage native theologians to write by publishing their writings.

The ministry of FACM will be unique for the following reasons:

First, it has a broad scope; it will help all believers in the Middle East and North Africa. There are 22 countries that speak Arabic. What we translate and write will cross the borders of Egypt to Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Saud Arabia, Morocco and other countries in the Middle East.

Second, the ministry of FAC will reach all denominations in the Middle East. The Catholic, Syrian, Coptic Orthodox and Protestant will benefit from this ministry. The books will be available to all regardless of their background.

Third, FACM goes beyond serving one ethnic group. The believers in Egypt will benefit as well as the believers in Algeria or Kuwait.

Fourth, FACM plans to make the resources available on CD and the Internet so everyone will have the freedom and chance to use them.

Finally, FACM looks to the future of coming generations. We pray for the growth and health of the Church in Middle East. One way to contribute to her growth and heath is to provide the resources and tools that everyone needs.

Out of this conviction the FACM have taking the first big challenge to work on translating one of the most conservative and scholarly commentaries, The Expositor’s Bible Commentary, published by Zondervan into Arabic. Zondervan has granted us the permission for translation. This large project, 12 volumes, marks the starting of FACM. Other theological and important resources will follow.

Dear friends, we are in debt to the first missionaries who came and worked hard, and the first thing they did was to translate the Bible into Arabic language. FACMinistry is committed to continue in their steps by translating what pastors and Bible students need to study the Word of God more completely. And as the missionaries made the Scripture available to everyone, our goal is to make the study tools available to every one on paper, CD and the Internet.
